Page Layout involves taking raw, unformatted text from an author (such as an MS Word document) and transforming it into a print ready publication. This is done by laying the text out into a set design and developing any required graphics to produce a professional publication suitable for retail.

We pride ourselves on combining both clear, standardised design with efficient management of the whole project. We work directly with the author to step through the stages required to move from the raw text document to the final publication.

All design work is completed with industry leading software which allows seamless editing capability as each proof read is completed with the author. As changes are made on the fly, the normally lengthy process of proofing the publication is shortened considerably, resulting in a reduced turnaround time for each project.

Once the design is complete, we are able to perform the print run for you - through our established printing partners - to produce the final publication. Alternatively, we can supply the finished artwork in print ready PDF for your existing print supplier to complete the run if you require.

Books designed and laid out by Fire Circle, particularly in the education sector, are currently available from such major retailers as Amazon.co.uk and continue to provide major revenue streams for their publishers.

Product Spotlight: The Creative Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum was renowned Literacy Consultant Ros. Wilson’s 4th book, following on from the very successful ‘Write on Target’. The book focuses on planning and organising the curriculum in primary schools in the UK, and contains a mixture of text, data and graphics.

Fire Circle were responsible for the design of the book, layout of the pages and development of the large number of illustrations required. The publisher saved 25% on the cost of the previous book by working with Fire Circle.

The resultant 174 page perfect bound book, ISBN 978-0954701925, is now available though the website of publisher Andrell Education and other major retailers.
